01 — Vuba Stone Resurfacing

Natural stone, locked in resin. Built for Canadian winters.

Vuba Stone is a UK-developed resin-bound stone system refined over a decade of Northern European use. Graded natural aggregate in a UV-stable resin matrix — permeable, freeze-thaw rated, and the right surface for driveways, patios, and pool decks across the Toronto GTA.

The material, in plain terms

Resin-bound stone is exactly what it sounds like: graded natural aggregate mixed with a clear two-part polyurethane resin and trowelled onto a prepared base. Once cured, every individual stone is locked in place — but the surface stays porous, so water drains through it instead of pooling, freezing, or running off.

We install Vuba Stone, a British system purpose-built for climates like ours. The resin is UV-stable so the colour stays true year over year, and the open-graded aggregate flexes with freeze-thaw cycles instead of fracturing. It's the same material used across Northern Europe for driveways, public squares, and coastal promenades.

Resin-bound stone in the field

Before / After

The same driveway, one week apart.

Worn asphalt to a clean charcoal resin-bound finish. No demolition — the new surface goes directly over the existing drive.

Before
After

Permeable

SuDS-compliant — water drains through to the substrate instead of pooling, so meltwater and rain don't pond, freeze, or run off the surface.

UV stable

The resin doesn't yellow or chalk in sunlight. The aggregate doesn't fade. Year ten looks like year one.

Freeze-thaw rated

Tested across many cycles of Canadian winter — no surface cracks, no aggregate pop-out, no salt damage at the edges.

Common questions

Frequently asked

What is Vuba Stone, exactly?

Vuba Stone is a British-developed resin-bound stone system — graded natural aggregate mixed with a two-part UV-stable polyurethane resin and trowelled onto a prepared base. Used across Northern Europe for over a decade on driveways, public squares, and coastal promenades.

How long does a resin-bound surface last?

Installed correctly, 15–20+ years with minimal maintenance. We back every install with a written 5-year warranty against cracking, fading, and workmanship defects — but the typical service life is much longer.

What maintenance does it need?

Sweep loose debris off and rinse with a garden hose once or twice a year. No sealing, no top-coats, no annual treatments. The resin doesn't wear off because there's no surface layer to wear off — every stone is bonded all the way through.

How does it compare to stamped concrete or pavers?

Stamped concrete cracks at control joints and fades from sun exposure. Pavers gap, shift, and trap weeds at the joints. Resin-bound is monolithic (no joints), permeable (no pooling), and UV-stable (no fade). It's also installed in 2 days versus a week-plus for the alternatives.

Does it work in Canadian winters?

Yes — the system is freeze-thaw rated. The resin matrix flexes with temperature cycles instead of fracturing, and the permeable surface drains meltwater so it can't pool, freeze, and lift the surface from below.
