When rubber beats stone

Resin-bound stone is the right surface for most applications, but there are a few places rubber wins: anywhere kids fall (playgrounds and play areas), around pools and hot tubs where slip resistance is the priority, and over uneven substrates where a flexible, forgiving surface makes more sense than a rigid one.

Poured rubber is a blend of recycled rubber granules and a polyurethane binder, installed as one continuous, seamless pour — no joints to trip on, no tiles to peel up, no gaps for weeds. Available in a wide colour range including custom patterns and logo inlays.

Rubber surfaces we've installed

Before / After

Worn concrete steps, transformed in a day.

Same front entry, one day apart. The old concrete stays — the poured rubber layer bonds directly to the existing surface.

Before
After

Cushioned

Built-in shock absorption — the right material for play areas, splash pads, and around equipment kids climb on.

Slip-resistant when wet

The textured surface stays grippy under water. Ideal around pools, hot tubs, and splash pads where slick surfaces become hazards.

Seamless install

Poured in place, fully seamless. No tiles to lift, no edges to trip on, no gaps for weeds to grow through.

Common questions

Frequently asked

Where does poured rubber make more sense than resin-bound stone?

Anywhere cushioning or maximum slip resistance is the priority — playgrounds, splash pads, pool decks where kids run, and steps that see heavy wet-foot traffic. Resin-bound stone is right for most other applications.

Is it safe for kids?

Yes — shock-absorbing, non-toxic once cured, and slip-resistant when wet. It's the same class of material used on commercial playground surfaces and certified for fall-zone use.

Will it fade in the sun?

The UV-stable binder keeps the colour stable for many years. Heavily-exposed bright colours (red, orange) can soften slightly over time; muted tones and earth shades hold colour the longest.

How long does install take?

1–2 days for most residential applications. The poured rubber cures overnight — you can walk on it the next morning.

What's the warranty?

5 years on materials and workmanship — written warranty covering the seamless pour, bonding, and surface integrity.
